About

This exhibition will examine every major aspect of Charles-Nicolas Cochin's career, from his early work showing the pomp and splendor of the French Rococo style, to his later shift to the Neo-Classic. The drawings compiled and annotated by the artist himself, from which most of the exhibition will be drawn. The 75 works selected will include Cochin's famous depictions of the lavish celebrations and firework displays given by Louis XV, his lively portraits of contemporary artists and intellectuals, and his illustrations for some of the century's most important books.
