About

This program presents two decades of videos made by artists using the formats of public service announcements and advertising. Many of the works were originally aired on broadcast or cable television. During the late 1980s and early 1990s, artists embraced these familiar TV formats to present points of view about pressing social issues. Other artists explored the 30- and 60-second spot in more personal ways, often using humor or the unexpected to produce powerful short pieces.
