Man's Reversible Pullover and Shirt

Image 1 of 31 / 3

Jean-Paul Gaultier, known for injecting kitsch into couture, continues his playful approach to fashion in his seminal reworking of menswear, first introduced in 1984. Delighting in gender ambiguities—including skirts for men—Gaultier's fall/winter 1994 collection for both sexes took inspiration from Mongolia, Tibet, and China, and utilized the sexual charge of animal skins. This unconstructed pullover of faux tiger fur reverses to a shiny gray patterned fabric with bull's heads; in addition to bold stripes, the same gray cloth is used on the oversize double shirt worn beneath.
