Sung Sing Kung

Chinese, 1836 - 1879

This is one of the carved, folding screens sent by Sung Sing Kung of Ningpo, for display at the Centennial. A number of reviewers made note of the fine carved works produced by Sung Sing Kung, while the award judges recognized the Chinese and Japanese furniture in general for having "quaint and elaborate carving."
