Christian Friedrich ZinckeGerman (active England), 1685 - 1767
In the eighteenth century, enamel miniatures in which brilliant colors were fired onto a porcelain base were popular. One of the finest miniaturists was Christian Friedrich Zincke, a German artist who worked in England. His works were highly sought after for their smooth surfaces, saturated colors, and realistic depictions of velvet and lace.
