Artist/maker unknownThe lacquer inlay designs and form of this table are characteristic of pieces produced on the Ryukyu Islands for export during the nineteenth century. The rectangular table has indented corners and rests on four stylized, dragon-shaped feet. Its entire surface is adorned with mother-of-pearl inlay, and the top is decorated with a scene of figures in a Chinese garden.
