Cinderella

Eugen Napoleon Neureuther

German, 1806 - 1882

The tale of Cinderella and the Glass Slipper has enthralled readers all over the world for centuries: in French she is known as “Cendrillon,” in Italian as “Cenerentola,” in German as “Aschenputtel,” and in Czech as “Popelka.” One of the best-loved versions of the story, depicted here by Eugen Neureuther, appeared in the first edition of the collection of Children’s and Household Tales published by the Brothers Grimm in 1812.
