Ale Glass

Franz Tieze was a Bohemian engraver who worked in Dublin around the turn of the century. Much of the decoration he produced refers to the Irish volunteer movement, which had its heyday from about 1778 to 1783. This glass commemorates the Kerry Legion, a volunteer group formed in the late 1770s by Irish Protestants who were mainly shopkeepers, dealers, tradesmen, and farmers.
