Woman's Dress and Sash

Sumptuous fabric serves as inspiration for many designs. This print of ostrich feathers on semi-sheer and opaque silk, created by the textile firm of Perceval-Sekers, was the impetus for designs at the houses of both Christian Dior and Nina Ricci in 1968. In this dress, designer Gérard Pipart picks up on the colors of the print, trimming the swirly hem and sash with real feathers dyed to match by the Judith Barbier fashion house, another Parisian supplier of luxury goods.
