Chinese and Western motifs are successfully combined in this plaque. Rococo-style borders frame Chinese pavilions (each with an upper story), small figures, and rowboats, as well as birds and flowers in an unusual variety of colors. No part of the surface is left undecorated, a style that indicated wealth in the mid-eighteenth century.
