Woman's Evening Ensemble: Cape, Top, and Pants

The macramé cape seen here is Kansai's version of the long, fringed shawls and capes that were in vogue both as high fashion and anti-fashion in the United States in the 1960s and 1970s. The hippie look was popular in Japan for a brief period among the futen-zuko (Vagabond Tribe), a youth subculture modeled on American hippies that emerged during the summer of 1967.
