Street Musician

Along with paper dolls and toy soldiers, jumping jacks were all the rage in Europe during the 1800s. Pinpoints mark where the joints were meant to be fastened together after the various body parts were cut out. Once strings were attached to the backs of their articulated limbs, jumping jacks could be made to perform as puppets or marionettes and play a polka tune or a drum roll.
