Allegorical Title Page

Marcantonio Canini

Italian, born c. 1622

A student of the famous Gianlorenzo Bernini, Canini was a sculptor who made very few prints. His inexperience is clear in the awkward modeling of the figures of this title page, made for a book written by his brother.
