A Pennsylvania Landscape

Edward Willis Redfield

American, 1869 - 1965

This view from just north of the town of New Hope, Pennsylvania, shows a hundred-year-old covered bridge that spans the Delaware River to New Jersey. Not far from Edward Redfield’s home, the picturesque bridge appeared frequently in his work, from different perspectives and in different conditions. Here Redfield captures the grayed colors and feeble sunlight of a chilly midwinter day.
