Italian, 1703 - 1759

Image 1 of 31 / 3

The printmaker Giuliano Giampiccoli collaborated with the publisher Bartolomeo Zucconi to produce an album of etchings after paintings by Marco Ricci, the artist's uncle. Divided into two groups of eighteen prints, the album includes two title pages, one with a dedication to Consul Joseph Smith, the other to Count Anton Maria Zanetti. Giovanni Battista Tiepolo lent a hand on the project, creating two small vignettes of scenes from Greek history for the title pages and possibly executing drawings after Ricci's paintings for Giampiccoli to use as models for the etchings.
