Untitled Dango

Jun Kaneko

American (born Japan), born 1942

This is one in a series of immense ceramics by Kaneko Jun. To make a piece this large, the artist must be constantly and intensely engaged as he applies multiple layers of color. Kaneko works with an industrial-sized kiln used for the production of clay sewer piping in Omaha, Nebraska, where he lives.
