Ruba'i in Naskhi Script

As its Arabic name implies, the ruba'i form of poetry consists of four lines of rhyming verse. A theme is introduced in the first line and then developed in the second. The third line may not rhyme if the poet desires a dramatic pause, as in these quatrains. The fourth line serves as a finale. The ruba'i form is typically selected for expressing personal sentiments. Here Nawab Muhammad Vizier Khan Bahadur speaks of Queen Victoria's generosity and splendor while emphasizing his own sincerity and trust.
