This Adoration of the Magi was produced in large numbers by Pieter Brueghel the Younger and his workshop after a painting by his father (likely the one in Royal Museums of Fine Arts in Brussels), Pieter Bruegel the Elder (the younger artist spelled his last name differently than his father), which the son rendered in a more clear and colorful style. Brueghel set the event in a wintry Flemish village. The strange markings on the camels' baggage resemble those used by Antwerp merchants to identify their goods and indicate destination.
