Stanley LechtzinAmerican, born 1936
Stanley Lechtzin arrived in Philadelphia to begin his teaching career at Tyler School of Art in 1962. Five years later he established a graduate program in metals there, through which many important metalsmiths have passed: Eleanor Moty, Albert Paley, Bruce Metcalf, and Vickie Sedman, among others. Lechtzin has made innovation and education the keystones of his artistic career. From the 1960s to the present he has been a major force in the use of new materials and technology in jewelry and metalwork.
