Krishna Points Out to Balarama the Descent from the Sky of Two Chariots Carrying Celestial Weapons

Artist/maker unknown

Image 1 of 21 / 2

After Krishna kills King Kansa, Kansa's father-in-law attacks Mathura with his own powerful army. As Krishna and Balarama await the battle, two glowing chariots descend from the sky carrying the brothers' eternal, celestial weapons-a bow and sword for Krishna, a plough for Balarama. Krishna urges his brother to mount the chariot and battle this unjust king.
