Kitaōji RosanjinJapanese, 1883 - 1959
Kitaoji Rosanjin is considered by many to be Japan's foremost potter of the twentieth century. Rosanjin is able to capture the essence of many different traditional Japanese wares, as well as those from China and Korea, while maintaining his own artistic originality. This set of dishes alludes to Oribe wares, first made in fifteenth-century Japan.
