Helmet (Bascinet) and Visor
Artist/maker unknownImage 1 of 51 / 5
This bassinet is a rare, well-preserved example of a once relatively common type of knightly helmet. The holes along its lower edge are for securing a lining (now lost) on the interior, and a camail (neck defense of mail) on the exterior, which extended around the neck onto the shoulders.
