No-To-Bac
Maxfield ParrishAmerican, 1870 - 1966
No-To-Bac was a chewing gum containing licorice, gentian, guaiac, and a salt (possibly ammonium chloride). The pleasant, soothing effect may have provided a temporary distraction from smoking but would not have cured the habit.
