Saint John the Baptist Preaching in the Wilderness

Anton Domenico Gabbiani

Italian, 1652 - 1726

This drawing was probably removed at some point from Matthew Carey Lea's album VII, which contains a large group of reproductive prints after drawings by Gabbiani, a Florentine painter who worked a great deal for the Medici producing portraits and decorating palaces and villas with paintings.
