In this etching, Worlidge adopted one of the time-honored techniques used by artists to work in the manner of their predecessors. Without directly copying Rembrandt's version, Worlidge incorporated similar details of costume and setting, while depicting the characters at a slightly different point in the narrative. Here Abraham and Isaac seem to be concluding their discussion, as the father escorts his son to the altar.
