In the final lithograph of his album representing landscapes of the days of the week (Philadelphia Museum of Art, 1997-170-1--8), Olivier recasts the seven landscapes as vignettes in a single composition: baptism on Sunday, childhood on Monday, courtship on Tuesday, prayer on Wednesday, rest from labor on Friday (Thursday and Friday are intentionally reversed, for balance), marriage and family on Thursday, burial on Saturday. Each day includes the symbol of the celestial body associated with it: Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, and Saturn. The Bible verse, translated, says: “Blessed are they that do not see, and yet believe” (John 20:29).
