About
Where Art and Community Meet
As one of the largest museums in the country, the Philadelphia Art Museum offers a vibrant campus for both Philadelphians and visitors to enjoy. Our main building is an iconic cultural landmark, best known for the “Rocky Steps” on its East Terrace, which provide sweeping views of the city skyline and a popular gathering place for civic celebrations.
Inside you’ll discover world-renowned galleries, engaging educational spaces, unique retail shops, and a variety of dining options. Our campus, located along the scenic Benjamin Franklin Parkway, also includes the nearby Rodin Museum and the Anne d’Harnoncourt Sculpture Garden.
More to the Story
Our encyclopedic collection tells stories that span time, place, and culture. Featuring art and artifacts dating back over 4,000 years, the Philadelphia Art Museum’s collection is constantly growing and evolving.
We’re committed to showcasing works by emerging artists and amplifying voices from communities that have been historically underrepresented in museums. These additions spark deeper conversations and reflect our ongoing journey as a more inclusive and dynamic institution.
