Ragnhild Heiberg was the wife of Axel Heiberg, the Norwegian patron who commissioned Edvard Munch to paint a large painting of a Mermaid for the couple's home in Lysaker in 1896. That painting is now in the collections of the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
