A member of the twelfth generation of the Zengoro family of potters, Eiraku Wazen (1824-1897) began working at the Kutani kilns in the Province of Kaga in 1866. From this time onward, other potters at the Kutani kilns made ceramics in the Eiraku style, such as this piece.
